Over 45 dedicated individuals make up the team at AWM from licensed Property & Strata Managers with a combined experience of over 100 years to several accredited and skilful accounting and administrative personnel, all ensuring the highest level of performance of each property that is AWM managed.
We take pride in our teamwork approach and keeping up to date of the latest technology enhancements and industry. Strong association through memberships within our industry maintains the ability for our team to be both effective and efficient.
Michael H. Schuss, CEO
AWM commenced operation on November 1st, 1997 and has grown by a staggering 1000% in the past 15 years. As Owner and Managing Broker, Michael has been involved in the handling of all the various property types since 1985 and has an unrestricted license, providing for a level of service commitment that includes all facets of the Real Estate industry. Assembling not only a qualified but enthusiastic team of property managers, accountants and client care professionals, is the key to the successful representation that is AWM. As we move ahead, Michael strives for AWM to be a leader in service and dedication recognizing our client’s needs through both innovation and hard work.
Marj Talento, COO
Marj truly enjoys her position as COO for AWM where she started in an Administrative capacity in 2000. Her passion and appreciation for the responsibilities bestowed upon her enabled for quick growth to a lead position in a short period of time. Currently, Marj is responsible for the Administrative and client care facets of the company’s operations that contribute to the overall efficiency, effectiveness and the success of AWM over the last 12 years. Taking a proactive approach in the development of our staff is her continued goal earning the client care distinction above all else.
Sophia Jang, CFO
Sophia is a Certified General Accountant and has worked in executive leadership positions for over 15 years in various industries. Her diverse background in property management, retail, manufacturing, public companies and business consulting enables her to make quick strategic decisions to safeguard the assets of the properties and AWM’s corporate entities, as well as maintain relationships with key stakeholders. With a passion to improve business practice and build teams, Sophia plays an integral role to the success and growth of AWM.
Lyndon King, President
Lyndon has been involved in the Real Estate industry now exceeding 20 years, and has been licensed as a Managing Broker, unrestricted for most of his tenure, resulting an extreme depth of experience for the AWM staff and clients alike to draw from. The experience has been gained by a personal Management of a variety of strata and commercial Real Estate during this time, with ranging disciplines and difficulties, all to which Lyndon gained tremendous expertise in his current handling of accounts as a Manager and President of AWM. With solid Sales experience as well, Lyndon has developed a strong understanding of the larger field making up the overall responsibility in representing the investment property of our clients. Lyndon has resided in the lower mainland for over 30 years and has continued to evolve with the changing Real Estate climate. A kind and friendly personality, yet professional in approach, will serve the AWM clients well into the future.
Chris McInnes, Vice President
Chris has over 12 years experience in the property management industry, and is passionate about ensuring clients receive proactive management services for their homes and investments. His understanding of the Strata Property Act and other governing bodies paired with an ability to adapt to a changing environment gives him insight into the many variables to be considered when managing the varied types of properties we have in British Columbia. This combined with an easy going demeanour has Chris the respect of his valued clients, trades and fellow Property Managers. With a genuine interest in building a long trusted relationship with his clients, Chris takes great pride in finding ways to surpass expectations.
Lana Chow, Administration Manager
Having worked at AWM Alliance since 2001, Lana has been involved with property management, property development, marketing and human resources. She has had the opportunity to work with Property Managers with diverse portfolios in both residential and commercial. It is with this experience in a wide range of properties She aims to ensure that the Administration Department runs efficiently so to assist Property Managers in providing the highest level of services to our Clients. She is focussed on making sure our clients receive the professionalism, quality and reliability they deserve.
Stella Wang, Accounting Manager
Upon earning her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Victoria, Stella had worked in marketing, finance and real estate industries. She joined AWM and started as Accounts Payable administrator in 2006 before becoming a property accountant with a diverse portfolio. Stella currently holds the position of Accounting Manager with a department of ten members. She takes a hands-on approach in providing strong support to the team, as her passion and strong work ethics is evident and provides the inspiration for the team.
Duncan MacKenzie, Director, Vancouver Island
In addition to over a decade exceeding customer expectations in other service industries, Duncan has over 14 years' experience in the Real Estate management field, including Commercial, Residential and Strata Management. Duncan has worked in various markets including Victoria, Vancouver and California. He genuinely enjoys the interaction with Strata Councils along with the thousands of clients who reside in the various strata developments under AWM's management in Victoria. Duncan is a "people person" with a highly collaborative and client-focused approach to his work. Duncan enjoys life in Victoria with his wife and two school-aged children.
Tyler Johnson, Director of Real Estate Services
Tyler has over 20 years experience as a licensed manager in multiple disciplines of Real Estate and also holds a Brokers License. His extensive experience and knowledge of strata, rental and commercial management is an asset to the company. Tyler strives to provide superior customer service and the highest level of professionalism. Tyler currently heads the rental department and mentors junior management staff through a process that sets a direction of for the Company long term, ensuring to the consistency and appropriate structure sought by AWM. Tyler also takes pride in coaching his daughters baseball team, and enjoys helping the players reach their maximum potential.
Marc Rothberg, Senior Strata Agent
Growing up in Richmond, Marc has come to appreciate the tremendous growth of the City and in particular the significant trend of strata living. Marc graduated from UBC in 2004 with an influence in commerce and entered the field of property management shortly after in early 2005. While attending school Marc developed a strong appreciation for customer service having been employed in sales roles where he adopted the need to effectively balance responsibility and client expectations. As a licensed strata manager Marc is involved in various strata property types, styles and sizes at AWM from low to high rise residential and commercial properties. The exposure to these varying strata property types has provided Marc with a depth of experience and understanding that is a value to his clients.
Terry Newell, Senior Strata Agent
Terry has worked with Strata Corporations since 1994. She earned her Urban Land Economics Diploma from the Sauder School of Business at UBC in 1997 and received her Managing Broker’s license the same year. She has worked in all facets of property management; as a commercial property manager, a managing broker, realtor and rental manager, but she kept coming back to Strata management. She says there is never a dull day in the Strata management world. As a “people person”, she enjoys the daily interaction with Councils and owners. Terry prides herself on her considerable organizational and management skills and loves using them in the ongoing challenges inherent in managing Strata properties. She is excited to call AWM home and looks forward to continuing her career in Strata Management.
Stanley Cheung, Strata Agent
Stanley Loves Hong Kong but his Heart belongs in Vancouver and with that, the passion to be involved in Real Estate and the growing sector of strata. Stanley welcomes challenges which started with both graduation from Vancouver College and earning a degree in Economics at SFU. Stanley entered the industry of strata management in 2006 and has grown quickly with heightened involvement across all facets of the management responsibility, dealing with not only residential but mixed use and air parcel properties. Stanley puts integrity first and the sound representation of his clients foremost. This is supported by his natural competitive spirit in various sports.
Cody Rae, Strata Agent
After completing his Management Degree, Cody worked as a project manager for a Mechanical Contractor for 2 years, where he successfully balanced providing customer satisfaction with his management responsibilities. Cody’s drive, yet empathetic nature and ease in relating with others led him to a career in strata management. Cody has his Certificates in both Strata Management and Rental Management, and is involved in AWM’s various strata property types, allowing him to broaden his depth and knowledge to provide exceptional service to clients within the Greater Vancouver region.
Nicole Hoiss, Strata Agent
Over the past 10 years, Nicole has worked extensively providing service to property management firms, Strata Councils and property Owners throughout the Lower Mainland. Nicole’s approach to client satisfaction is based on developing relationships focussed on honest, open and direct communication and teamwork. Nicole’s tenacious passion, energy and creativity fuel her to assist clients in achieving goals, in a timely fashion while working within the parameters of a budget
Matthew Karmal, Strata Agent
Since moving to North Vancouver from England in 2002, Matthew has grown to love Vancouver and developed a passion for the Real Estate Industry. Matthew is licensed in both trading and strata management services. Matthew graduated from the University of Victoria with a degree in Economics in 2009, since then he has gained valuable experience dealing with property owners and businesses and meeting the challenges of providing the appropriate balance between customer service and performance of tasks.
Ryan Stenquist, Strata Agent
Ryan previously spent 12 years in the customer service and sales industry, and comes to AWM as a newly licensed Strata Agent. With 4 years of service on his own current Strata Council as President and formerly President of another Council, Ryan brings hands-on experience from a client perspective, which will allow him to provide an empathetic understanding and high-level of service to clients of AWM. Ryan loves the challenge and variety that a job in property management brings and looks forward to the continuing education, experience and opportunities in this field. Ryan has lived in Victoria for the past year with his fiancée and enjoys staying active with his two dogs and volunteer work with local rescues.
Meghan Ritchie, Senior Strata Agent
Having resided in various areas of the lower mainland, Meghan has seen the tremendous growth in Strata living in Greater Vancouver. After graduating from the University of Western Ontario, Meghan worked in a variety of customer service and senior administrative roles prior to entering the Residential Management field in 2006. She found her niche in suburban strata complexes and new development projects, Meghan over the past 6 years has thrived on finding solutions to the unique needs of each strata property. This client-focused approach has led to successful relationships with many homeowners and Strata Councils. She looks forward to continuing to build and share her experience in the AWM-Alliance Fraser Valley office.
Wanda Wong, Business Development & Marketing Manager
After graduating from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelors Degree in Finance and Marketing, Wanda worked in many facets of real estate development and marketing, as well as the resort industry, from developing marketing campaigns to budget analysis to sales operations. With over 12 years of experience, her passion and dedication to meeting the needs of clients and understanding the marketplace allows Wanda to ensure the successful implementation of strategies for clients as AWM continues to strengthen and add to their current portfolio.
Jonathon Williams, Project Manager
Jonathon has been in a leadership role in the Waste Disposal Industry in the Lower Mainland since September 1988 in various Sales Management positions for Smitty’s Disposal, Waste Management Vancouver and Oregon, and Smithrite Disposal. In addition Jonathon has been involved in numerous construction projects, personally utilizing his skills to source materials and complete design scopes. In September 2011, he became a part of the AWM Team where he is utilizing his organizational skills and customer service talents in order to assist AWM’s Property Managers in supplying our clients with the added care in quality of service that AWM desires to provide on projects big and small.
Deanna Marzin, Manager, Corporate Relations
Following completion of studies in Marketing at BCIT, Vancouver campus, Deanna was a territory manager for Mark Anthony Group, a wine and beverage representative for labels such as Mission Hill, Rodney Strong and Corona. After seven years of dedicated service in developing sales for the represented brands and expanding the territory of influence, Deanna moved on to marketing for AWM on April 1st, 2007. Particularly involved in the development projects under the AWM umbrella, Deanna created the relationships with various service providers and designers in implementing strategic awareness of client properties, in rental and sales along with supporting the AWM brand. Deanna works across the breadth of the Company with all departments assuring that our brand is properly represented to our clients, meeting the expectations of service and commitment above all else.
